Short - worthy but didn't have much to say. Breadwinner - Quite beautiful & had me engrosed with the folk tale.
5
It seems strange to watch an animation with so harrowing a story instead of the usual fun antics of cartoon. A beautiful animation - thoroughly enjoyed.
5
What an excellent selection. Very enjoyable films. The main dealt with the subject of the treatment imosed by the Taliban. The production quality of the cartoon was superb. Glad I've seen it.
5
So well done; so sad; so moving. It's hard to imagine the story being told any other way. The animation was brilliant and the parallels of the traditional story was a wonderful revelation.
5
Great animation. Blimey but some of us men can be dicks….
5
Extraordinary & uplifting. HUGE list of multi-cultural credits / amazingly cosmopolitan. A pity some of the voices weren't as clear as they could have been. Some backgrounds (overlooking Kabul) are true to life - remarkable! Hopeful against the odds. I really enjoyed it.
5
Beautiful animation and a clever way to tell this story.
5
A unique story powerfully told through animation.

5
Interesting and palatable way to portray a fractured society & horrors of Taliban rule.
5
Unique. Powerful, truthful and very moving. An amazing tour de force
5
A beautiful film, thoroughly engaging in every way - with a powerful message
5
Captivating and redemptive, the film paints a great story of hope amongst oppression beautifully.
5
Short was a positive but the main was beautiful. It just needed 5 more minutes to convince me there was a happy ever after ending like all the best fairy stories.
5
Great film perfectly illustrating the dificult life people have to endure in Afghanistan…. And no end in sight. Well chosen.
5
Short - good to see a happier future to that depicted in the main film. Main! Brilliant! A tough story sensitively interpreted through the eyes of children. Very clever.
5
Wonderful film, didn't fail my expectations. It handled the traumatic topic really well. I believe it's easier to depict violence through animation without putting off the audience with explicit images. It blended beautifully with the narration about the boy and the beans. Despite the terribly sad story of the nation, the film felt very warm. Brilliant short film, 5, wishing the Afghan female cycling population lots of success, courage and safe miles!
5
Short film - great - that's what keeps me coming back to Fleet Film. Main film - big surprise. Much more impact/insight than I expected. Glad I came.

A lovely touching story with much truth in it.
4
Alarming as we know this persecution still exists today. Good presentation for animation. Moving emotionally for me.
4
A simple story, very well told.

Short: The suffragettes found the bicycle emancipating too! Main: A fascinating way to tell a story of hope and survival - quite unique, The musical score was a very good background.
4
A very simplistic animated film depicting the deplorable way in which both females and anyone living in Afghanistan who does not conform, are treated by the ruling Taliban. The beauty of not only the animation and the haunting music in the film makes it a quite unique.

A charming animation which told a 'true' story of the horrors of life in Afghanistan for women and girls under the Taliban, against the background of traditional Afghan story-telling. An Afghan parable, perhaps….

Thought provoking

Very clever story made more interesting by graphics
4
Bitter-sweet story. I liked the way it was portrayed - so many sad situations
4
A film that was incomplete
4
I didn't think I'd like this film, but it was quite compelling. The futility of it all.
4
Really need sub-titles on the films

Compelling and thoughtful.

Interesting in that it was odd. Lost the plot a bit at the end.
4
A very clever idea and portrayal of the difficulties for ordinary women under the Taliban - makes you think….

My wife tells me it was great!

A beautiful way of telling a terrifying story.
4
Very powerful film

Informative

Just goes to show you do not need expensive special effects to tell a story. It was great to highlight post Afghanistan which most people are not aware of i.e. not poverty or women's suppression. And when it comes to it: Love is the strongest weapon you can have.

Both films gave an insight to life in Afghanistan. Basic animation but it worked. Not sure about the ending.
3
Animated voices can be difficult / impossible for hard of hearing customers!
3
Just hope the Taliban don’t take over again in Afghanistan….

I feel guilty that I didn't really like it, a topic that's worth airing. Can we know where boat sequences filmed?
3
Difficult to describe but I enjoyed it.
3
Can't say I completely understood it but it was very good. Great contrast of harsh reality with the pictorial stories - loved the humour in drawings & stories
3
Very well put together.
3
Worthy film - sad subject
3
An interesting American view of Afghan society. Pity the American's are negotiating to give power to the Taliban

Bit naïve and uni-dimensional for me.
2
Thought provoking but not very entertaining.

The story was moving but not suited to animation. I did not enjoy it. Please do we have to watch the cargo ships again!! No thank you.
