Brilliant - so gripping - acting great. The muted colours grey & brown reflected the bleakness of the state and lack of hope.
5
Absolutely compelling. A truly great film. Searingly truthful.

Very powerful film. Wonderfully acted. Some of us are still scared of "Socialism" and Momentum. JC & JMc

An incredibly thought provoking film! To have the courage to live in those times was quite something. I don't think I could ever be that brave. Well acted and well presented, quite an evening's entertainment. Thank you film selection team!

That was just incredible. A stunning film.

Fear, suppression and blackmail was used effectively to control peoples lives and was shown vividly in this excellent but depressing account of life in East Berlin. Boy in the lift indicated that a few words from a child's mouth could easily destroy a family. Acting impressive, good and story line full of suspense and humour with such an unexpected and surprising good end to the film.
