Lone yachtswoman Rike is thrown from her contented life of sailing when she stumbles across a sinking refugee boat. When the coast guard refuses to help despite her pleas, she is forced to face her own impotence and the cruelties of life. Breathless, unsentimental, and told with the intensity of a ticking clock.

Excellent film. Such good acting & photography. Thought provoking - so how do we deal with these urgent questions. A bit more humanity required...
5
Very moving. Thought provoking. The lack of words/music etc helped give tense atmosphere. Amazing performance.
5
Very relevant to the world we live in - unbearably tense. Amazing what can be achieved with minimal dialogue. Excellent.
5
Rather like the Doctor, I'm left with no words. An amazing film - made words unnecessary. Audience stunned silence at the end as evidence.
5
Marvellous film. Wonderful photography. Very moving & emotional.
5
Awe inspiring. Decidedly uncomfortable viewing. Allegory of moral dilemma.
5
This was an amazing film - brilliant acting and filming. Story not really explained in detail - do we decide for ourselves? Why didn't she go up to the trawler and rescue others.
5
Tension gradually built up - so awesome!
5
Fantastic realism. What did the car crash have to do with the plot?
5
Abrupt ending!

4
Excellent film but a lot of questions left unanswered... Foul play!
4
Tense from start to finish! An experience to remember.
4
A tense film dealing with a difficult subject. Many aspects were not explained e.g. had they taken over the ship or were they being trafficked, what happened to the crew? A dilemma for the doctor. Production was very good.

Made you think. But what nationality were the coastguards? That didn't ring true.
4
Totally gripping with lots to think about & an extraordinary ending.
4
Yes. Very moving. Good.
4
A simple - if distressing - message, efficiently portrayed. This is all a little bit hopeless.
4
Very realistic and authentic real life drama. Highlights the moral dilemma of legal and illegal immigration. Thought provoking.
4
Exceptionally well acted & produced. Mixed up either there is a third world or how determined individuals can be.
4
Great cinematography / use of light - caught atmosphere of being at sea very well. Represented the dilemma of immigrants on boat etc. Enjoyed it!
4
The monkeys at the start combined with the silence, I found extremely calming, strangely. However the silence with the vast blank seascape accentuated the solitude of sailing solo.
4
Well filmed juxtaposition of the mundane and repetitive piloting of a lone yatchsperson which I found quite captivating. Then running into the tense human tragedy and the enormous individual responsibility which has echoes for us all in different levels. I thought the ending was perfect, admin being demanded when she had trauma so clearly etched on her face despite facing trauma every day in her job. Great film thank you
3
A tale / conundrum of our time. Just what/how much can we do when half the world wants to come to the UK.
3
Interesting reality at sea, how dangerous it is. Awareness of the dangers at sea.
3
Disappointed at lack of dialogue. Compelling, real dilemma - strong main character. Not really entertaining.
3
Moving but slow.
3
Very sad. It's unbelievable how international treaties forbid people to seek and give help.
3
Lots of questions at the end.
3
Big on drama (brilliant). Short on German (mis-sold)
3
Interesting story concept. Unfinished ending as far as I am concerned. Also no subtitles which we expected.
3
Initially very slow - then desperately tense.
