When the Grand Imam dies, his replacement is seemingly chosen through a corrupt election. Adam is recruited to help expose the heart of the conspiracy by attending the university at the centre of the affair. An intense journey that leads to loss of innocence.

This is the sort of film I come here for - thought provoking insight into other cultures faiths/religion. Excellent - what a wise man - just catch fish. |

Gripping. Spare but beautiful. So thought provoking. Wonderful acting. Edge of the seat stuff. Superb! |

Not sure whether they were fighting for the National Front of Judeah or the Judean National Front but it made me appreciate our free society. |

Fascinating! A very moral tale of the state of Egypt. Lots of threads I still haven't worked out. |

Very good. Kept waiting for bad ending. Didn't happen. |

There were no sides to take in this film which was amazingly done. Everyone was corrupt. |

Excellent thriller in an entirely fascinating environment. Just need the final argument explaining to me, |

A brave film - a searing indictment of the Islamic University, 'war' in Egypt & possibly other Islamic so called faithful. It takes some guts for a writer & film maker to produce this even out of the country. Well filmed - good use of silences. |

Very well done. Amazing story but scary. Thought provoking. |

It was a gripping thriller based in an environment completely new to me. I was left wanting to understand more about how Islam interacts with society - a great choice! |

A gripping and original theme which opened up a whole new world. It separated 'faith' from 'state' but allowed integrity to triumph. Terrific. |

I'm always impressed about the challenges the characters in the movies you choose have to face. Unfortunately the movie xx what is a xx in many places but luckily there was some happy ending! |

This was an amazing film. Incredibly acted. Very moving but very difficult to comment on as it is so complicated - would take several pages. |

An excellent film - a taut thriller which successfully built up the tension. It was disturbing to see such a pious and innocent young man caught in such a web. I loved the imam's question at the end - what did you learn? That power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely perhaps? (Not what he expected to learn.) |

Loved it! Well balanced insight to Islam under a dangerous political regime. PS The aircon is a bit chilly - not just me, others said too. |

Excellent introduction to the film, thank you. However, the film was a tough watch. The tension felt real and so cleverly built through silence and threat. |

Intense, tackled a difficult theme of corruption in the Islamic faith/institution. Cruel & corrupt. |

What have I learned? Better off to be a humble fisherman than get involved in religious crimes. |

The last comment was pertinent - 'what have you learnt?'. Complex situations - well acted. |

An unpleasant insight into a religion, state & society that is alien to us. Hard to watch & rather long. |

Tense, complicated - not sure I always knew what was happening. I'm glad he wasn't killed. Amazing setting! |

Very difficult to understand machinations of power play between state & religious leaders but eye opening. |

Confusing? Who were the Goodies. |

Power corrupts. But nothing beats the combo of politics & religion. |

A real insight into a culture I knew nothing about. Excellent choice. |

Very well acted. Interesting twist of state using religious position to get results. |

A taut thriller with some interesting insights into the religious and political machinations and corruption in Egypt. Interesting parallels drawn between corruptions in both spheres just behind different doors. Also interesting to watch a film with an almost exclusively male cast. |

Interesting look into Islam & politics. But found it very slow moving and not sure who won in the end. Too many men manoeuvring to be in charge. Probably the problem in that part of the world. |

Well made but not my 'cup of tea' because of the violence. |
