Pádraic and Colm have been lifelong friends when Colm decides unexpectedly to put an end to their friendship. As Pádraic struggles to come to terms with this, what follows is a series of ever more bizarre consequences. A dark and humorous fable with very Irish characters and a donkey.

I need to think about it all. I'm sure it was full of metaphors. I need to work them out. The scenery was wonderful. Lots to think about. I did enjoy the humour in the early part.

Anyone who orders a hot dog after that is mad!

Really liked this one! Great characters and a story that kept me intrigued.

Emotional rollercoaster indeed.

Dark and painful but well woven tale, incredible characters with moments of light against the dark, brilliant choice

Tough watch at times but great film

Wonderful cinematography. Hilarious dialogue and very sad. So many messages and all so true!
5
Great film exploring small remote lives and a longing for more. Yes graphic and shocking at times but isn't that life? Loved it!
5
So well crafted - Brilliantly acted - Themes we all struggle with around mortality and legacy - Living a simple life often feels like a dream scenario but isolation and repetition can be extremely harmful to the soul!!
5
Captivating storyline & acting. Mental stress evident - always best to talk - isolation brings despondency. An excellent film. Thank you for choosing this. I hope I don't dream of lost fingers!!
5
A cute and sweet tale of the little things that make up life turning into a mean vengeful film.

FINGER LICKIN GOOD TO BE SURE!

Excellent film! Very well: written/acted/directed. Sad descent into madness reflecting the madness of the outside/mainland world.

Very sad, tragic film. Extremely unusual but not my cup of tea.

So bleak. Glad Siobhan left. Sadness to madness - unbelievable! Quiet men on Inisherin. Sad face.

I need some time to reflect - can't quite sum up what I thought of the subject matter. Obviously excellently made film. Very enigmatic.
4
Very powerful, emotional, thought provoking. Filming was amazing.
4
A lot to think through. I suppose there was some Irish logic in it. Well acted though.
4
Oh! I wanted a happier ending than that...
4
A sad, gruesome, incomprehensible beautifully filmed film.
4
A moving story about a poor and isolated community where there is nothing to think about, nothing to do except drinking, gossip and casual violence. Except, ironically, music. The events were extreme, the 'quarrel' ridiculous. My sympathies were all with Pádraic. But great performances.

Certainly dark but not humorous. Such a sad storyline outcome including arson (setting light to and burning down a cottage), potential suicide (death by drowning), self harm (chopping off fingers), animal cruelty (choking a mini-donkey dead with a chopped-off finger), and more...
3
Subtitles & written commentary distracting on an English/Irish film. Depressing but excellent acting & location etc.

Depressing. Think I missed the metaphor. Beautiful scenery.

This was a very well acted film but I did not like the content. Horrific happenings and what did it teach them? Very disappointing.

A miserable 2 hours in the main. Scenery was great but...

What a horrible film. Any more like that and I won't be coming again!
