The most beautiful and fascinating film I've ever seen!
5
So beautiful.
5
Delicious film and superbly shot. The pear deserved an Oscar.
5
Held my attention throughout - amazing film. Spellbinding.
5
Wonderful film exploring theme of love in older age. Photography was exquisite and the opening scene was choreographed to perfection. Loved it.
5
What a poignant exploration of grief and the power of food to feed all of our senses as well as our stomachs. The opening scenes was like a beautifully choreographed dance in the preparation of the first film, and so beautifully shot that you can almost taste and smell the food. The film's emotional depth and beautiful storytelling make it a really worthwhile watch.
5
Very original theme. Fascinating to watch the dedication to detail and concentration of flavours in cooking. Partnership of the main characters beautifully interpreted.
5
What an entirely unique & unusual film. Only the French could make a film that was entirely about food or indeed a film like that. You can always tell how a film is appreciated when there is total silence at the end.
5
A sensual feast of food with cooking as the 'action' sequences which I looked forward to & loved.
5
Ambrosia! Nectar for this evening's audience. The sheer pleasure of good food in a beautifully sensuous film. Another selection triumph!

5+++ Beautiful. Exceptional. A paean to love, passion & food! Pure poetry. Exquisite cinematography, acting, food preparation & service. Moving & left me in tears.
5
Excellent. Loved the sensuous food. Mesmerising cooking - a delight.

Lovely! I like food. It just showed the difference between us and the French. Beautiful too!
5
My inner Foodie is weeping with every joyous mouthful - what a wonderful film.
5
Unique in all my film experiences! Totally beautiful and allusive. Sensory world of food made exquisite.

The French! What more needs to be said?
5
A sensual film of two people showing their love through food. Beautifully acted and filmed.
5
Such a lovely story. Glad I ate before or I would have been fainting. No violence, just sadness.
5
Wonderful film. Really appreciated how quiet & contemplative it was. Thought some members of the audience were squeamish about some of the food preparation scenes.

4
Very graceful and beautifully shot and acted.
4
A gentle picture-book pretty love story, one up on Master Chef! A celebration of gourmet feasting.
4
A very unusual film. Everything sensuous about it - even the food. All a labour of love.
4
Interesting. Not a gripping or exciting or even interesting film. Although the actors did not have many lines to learn only an accomplished actor/ess could express so many feelings. Beans on toast will never be the same again.
4
Extravagant and delicious with wonderful attention to detail but like the food very indulgent by the director. The acting though excellent did not eclipse the food!
4
A hymn to the art of French cuisine! Beautifully made - some scenes were like an Impressionist painting - and I really appreciated the loving care which went into the preparation of the dishes. But overly long and self-indulgent.
4
Well, I thought the cooking was the introduction - not the whole film! It was beautifully produced and acted, but I got fed up with all the food!

Mon dieu. Cordon Bleu to the extreme. Beautifully filmed and good acting but too long.

Very xxx!
4
Interesting story! Roll on Christmas dinner.
4
A beautiful film which was a gastronomic feast for the eyes & ears - unfortunately not the smell or taste! Excellent.
4
Very sensual film. Loved the way they communicate through food.
4
Very different & touching. Very well acted & atmospheric.

Rather drawn out showing all the cooking at first. Later more interesting. Sad ending.
3
Too much of an obsession over the essence of food. Well acted but slow. I would not want to see it again.
3
Too drawn out but beautiful natural scenes and a feast of food.
3
More Masterchef than storyline. As French as a film could be.
3
Too long. Interesting slow version of Masterchef, The Professionals.
3
A deliciously sensual film but perhaps a touch long.
3
Beautifully shot. Gave me some good ideas for the Christmas menu! :-)
3
A bit slushy - soft but fine.
3
Very French. Very long. It had its moments.
3
Well filmed, well acted gastronomic delight. But to what end? It confused me!

Can I have the recipes?

This was the worst film I have seen here - I cannot imagine why this was chosen.
1
Painfully tedious and dull. Nothing of merit for me other than the recipes! Sorry.
1
Dullest film I have ever seen at film club.
1
Awful - I thought it would never end!
