Best film of the year: colour, sound, story, location, eye opening. Superb.

Who could have thought that such a simple story could have ended as a very beautiful film. I thoroughly enjoyed. Pity it did not have a more joyful ending. It would have been perfect!
5
Great film. Poignant. Loved the way it left you hoping they'd meet but also left you wondering if they did!
5
Wonderful film. Very beautiful, moving. Made one reflect on what is really important in life - being honest about your feelings.
5
Not sure about the ending but the sensitivity & compassion of the script & the filming made it memorable.
5
Great movie. The conversation between Illa and aunty was amusing. I wish the ending could have seen them meet in person at last!
5
A nice look into a different style of life. Nice to be able to make up one's own ending. :-) Nice introduction. Could have done with subtitles for some of the English. Good choice.
5
What a lovely film. I see why you showed it 2nd time. I loved the gentle relaxation of the man. Suspenseful end leaving you to guess!

Loved it! Just the sort of thing I liked. It will provoke me into a lot of research into the places mentioned, the lunchbox system & countless more. If it makes me look at a map too it will have ticked all my boxes. I like learning about other countries. It's also great to not have to spend an evening locked in depression as the news is quite onerous at present!

This was beautifully crafted but understated in its pace and impact. Its exploration of loneliness and human connection on many levels was very poignant but always told with a delicate and light touch.
4
Interesting. Did not need the introduction.
4
V. thoughtful, an essay on loneliness.

4
Culturally intriguing but the romance was a Bombay Duck.
4
Beautifully made. It was stunning! I was hoping for a happy ending - but it wasn't really sad - just different.
4
It was a bit slow in parts but the sense of build-up of feeling was very well done. I enjoyed it very much.
4
Thank you for a beautiful film. The emotions of the main characters were palpable. She was so beautiful I would have liked happiness for them both.
4
I feel transported and enveloped in a different world - noisy but intensively emotional. Great cast who moved at a slow but intensely fast pace. Past member, tempted to renew.

Atmospheric but quite difficult to follow. Bum-numbing seats!

A slow film and left high & dry at the end. Not one of the best & not what I was expecting.

Too wry, too slow. Not for me.
