This film was very different from what I anticipated. The young actor was brilliant as was "Uncle". The film touched all aspects of life - love, tragedy, poverty, hate, determination and in the end love won!

I was looking forward to seeing this film which looked from the trailer as a cross between a cartoon and comedy film. It lived up to all expectations and was very funny with an opportunity to see the amazing and beautiful New Zealand landscape. The story line, humour, dialogue and acting made it a memorable film.

A unique story well crafted and beautifully acted. A touch of Crocodile Dundee with the 'Bushman' poking fun at the city dwellers 'superiority'.

Fab film, great story, beautiful scenery, quirky, good humour and a joy to watch. Great selection, so good to have something that makes us laugh!
5
A majestical film. A highly endearing film with moments of laughter juxtaposed with deeply sorrowful moments. A clever mention of Lord Of The Rings which was also filmed in the same country. Their kinship reflected by their matching by chapter 6.
5
I adored the baby piper bird. Great main film. Totally whacky funny & heart-warming. Never seen anything like it. Thank you for showing it!

Different! Took a while to get into it but enjoyed the event. Didn't give much credit to the N. Z. policeforce!

Nice scenery. Excellent acting by "Ricky" - glad the dog survived (at least one!) Film held my attention well. Like the little "quirks".

The trailers for this film do not do this justice - I was not looking forward to this but actually it was quite excellent. Brought a tear to my eyes

Jolly and lighthearted. The first third seemed brilliant but then half way through it became rather silly. Short film = 5. One of the best short films, gentle and sweet. Cute baby piper with an ambition.
