What an amazing film. Beautifully filmed. It must be one of the most memorable films. Thank you.

My second time seeing the film, but I enjoyed it as much a second time.
5
Powerful and personal. It was a beautiful, captivating and ultimately tragic story brought alive with amazing poignancy. Thank you.
5
Wonderful cast! Outstanding story telling. I want to see the picture!
5
I really enjoyed it. My first time here & thought the info at the beginning was v good too. Great film to show to keep reminding what it was like for the Jews.
5
Tension built very effectively using history, people, actions, law, contrasting countries, people & cultures. Timing and cast also very good. Very good in all senses.
5
One of many stories of Austria that have not been resolved such as Sound of Music, still not shown to many Austrians. Very sensitive acting and superb acting.
5
Intriguing, factual and portrayed the often held prejudices that are retained so many years later. Our unwillingness to do justice. Well acted and kept me awake!
5
An amazing performance by Helen Mirren. A story of war activities seldom brought to light, revealing the plight of those whose possessions were stolen and often never returned.
5
I read about this case at the time but the film makes a far greater impact than newsprint. It was powerful and deeply moving - showing man's inhumanity to man - but for once the right outcome triumphed.
5
Wonderful start to the new season. I have seen many films about the horrors of the Nazis and the people who followed them - but can never get used to the horror.
5
Such a beautiful film and so well acted by Helen Mirren. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
5
Very moving and great selection. If there are suggestions of other movies in connection with this one, would gladly receive a list.
5
Good film to return to. Thoroughly enjoyed. Has inspired me to visit the museum when I go to New York in November!
5
A wonderful film! An intriguing story, perfectly told, and beautifully acted. Helen Mirren brilliant. The story was balanced, and showed both sides of the story.
5
I have seen this film before but well worth a second view! Stunning performances, lovely scenery & nice humorous touches in an otherwise often serious & moving film. I'd like to congratulate the member of your committee who did such an inspiring introduction.

The lead actress was superb. The script was very tightly written. Love the final tour of her home with the memories.

The best film thus far! Brilliant portrait by Helen Mirren. The outcome was such an amazing achievement. Glad justice had won.
5
Wonderful story of a fight for justice, told with a light & moving touch. Great start to the season!

A deeply moving film that shed light, for me, on a less spoken about story of art restitution in the aftermath of the Holocaust. While it occasionally dips into familiar territory with its courtroom drama structure, the film’s emotional depth, strong performances, and historical resonance made it a powerful and thought-provoking watch. Mirren’s portrayal of Maria Altmann elevates the film, turning a legal battle into a deeply personal story of justice, remembrance, and the unbreakable bonds of family.

4
Amusing, interesting. A good film to start the year.
4
Tense, emotional. But didn't think much of the famous painting or the Schoenberg music!
4
A good start to the year. A serious film with touches of humour which made it flow.
4
I'd seen the film before and enjoyed it. I always like true stories.
4
Helen Mirren is fantastic. We've seen it before but you do see more on the subsequent viewing.
4
I already had some idea of this story due to the George Clooney film about the theft of great artwork from the Jews during the war. Really enjoyed it. A great start to the new year.
4
Great start to the season. A glimpse into the history of treasures lost during Hitler's occupations and the fight to recover them and offer restitution to the rightful owners.
