Superb cinematography, atmosphere and totally mad. I loved it.

Great film but cold breeze on left hand side!!
5
Bit bizarre but in a very good way! Thanks.

Brilliant! Loved the opera.

Wonderfully weird!

Kept me fixed to my seat. Not sure I saw it the same way as Jerry but quite fascinating & I felt very of this time - even her dress. Loved her voice.
5
Great, of its time. Music was fab!
5
Sacré bleu!!

I saw it when it first came out in the 80's. It was weird then and is still weird now! But I enjoyed it which must make me weird! Haha!! Thank you.

Loved it! A treasure...

Amazing. Such a beautiful voice - brilliant cinematography.
5
For such a farcical tale it was surprisingly intense! Wonderful chase scene!
5
Very French.
5
Excellent, moving & funny.
5
Brilliant! Crazy.

Excellent. Felt disjointed at first but grew & grew. Intelligent & great acting & story telling.

It was engrossing but I have to confess to being very confused - probably down to me, rather than the film. It was too violent for me but I am very squeamish. The singing was phenomenal. Much to my surprise, I really enjoyed the chase in the metro.
4
Interesting film, not a favourite but some amusing moments. Thank you.
4
Magnificently French. Lots of incident, not necessarily in the right order. The music was great!
4
Preposterous but fun! Ridiculous plot but silly enough to be entertaining. Glorious soundtrack too!
4
A bit chilly sitting watching a very amusing film!
4
Surreal, dreadful script, fantastically lit, daft plot: French! (But disappointingly no striped Breton shirt. Otherwise a full Franco-house.)
4
xxx great Intro.
4
Interesting but weird.
4
Different & quirky.
4
Enjoyable.

Complètement bonkers!

Crazy but lovely.
4
Sort of genius but extraordinarily dull at the same time!
4
You were right. I hadn't a clue what was going on but it was fascinating just to watch.
4
Monty Python comes to mind... Not sure if I was meant to laugh!
4
Intriguing! And now, a real period piece!
4
Spectacular - but a bit too long!

Interesting and a bit different. It had its moments.
3
It was 45 years ahead of its time and still is. A strange dream, strangely performed.

Bonkers!

Bonkers, very French, kind of fun. Didn't understand it all. I enjoyed the Fleet Film man's intro.
3
First film I've seen in 2 years that I did not enjoy.
3
Loved the locations in Paris, the music, car chases. However I did find it had to follow at times. The actors looked similar!
3
The first story runs out of steam - fandom. The second story about corruption takes over - more derivative. OK.

Different!

Definitely an art film, too weird for me! Actually quite irritating. Though the music was great and some of the scenes were very watchable.
3
Well that was odd!
3
Good storyline albeit too long!
3
Rather uneven: stylish in some places - but didn't engage me.
3
Visually very interesting - bit too long, didn't hold my attention - too random.
3
Rather odd. French Monty Python!
2
Loved the singing, bit violent.
2
Not my thing (very much Jerry's). Enjoyed the opera and Paris scenes but not much else.
2
Amazing voice - stupid story!

Great singing but not much else. Je le détestais.

Oh dear, this film was not for me. Very dark and depressing. My least favourite in 10 years...!!
